Iam8bit and Nano Park Studios have announced Petal Runner at Day of the Devs. It’s a slice-of-life RPG about a courier delivering virtual pets to people powered by flowers, down to 8-bit pixel art.
In some ways, it’s the gaming equivalent of a weighted blanket or the world’s largest cup of cocoa. It almost feels as if it heads towards dangerous levels of coziness. Take a look at the trailer below, if you doubt us.
Presented as a unique take on cyberpunk-inspired worlds, Petal Runner features Cali and Kira, who are training to be couriers. The story is about growing up as they travel and make friends in the city of Sapphire Valley.

Considering that Kira is an older model than the HanaPets, the team aims to capture the special feeling of companionship that comes with owning pets. It will be interesting to see what stories erupt between Cali’s clients and these adorable creatures.
