Popular streaming service Hulu has removed several favorite animes from its rooster, including Digimon. Hulu dropped the programs at the start of February.
Early last month, the company published a list of programs and franchises that would be discontinued as early as February. DragonBall and Digimon were among the titles on the list, and they were sent to streaming service subscribers. Nonetheless, fans were hoping that Hulu would proceed with the cancellations.
However, on February 1, Hulu followed through on its plans and removed these Toei programs.
- Dragon Ball
- Dragon Ball GT
- Dragon Ball Super
- Digimon Adventure
- Digimon Adventure 02
- Digimon Tamers
- Digimon Frontier
- One Piece (select seasons)
After Dropping Digimon, Is it Still Worthwhile Using Hulu?
After sweeping this vast list of programs under the rug, Hulu is down to the bare bones. This causes fans to wonder whether or not it is worth continuing with Hulu. After all, Digimon and Dragon Balls topped the rooster.
The new rooster shows some seasons and franchises that users may like, including Dragon Ball Daima (2024), Dragon Ball Z Kai (2009), Digimon Adventure (2020), Toriko (2011), Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai (2020).
With a broad offering of traditional TV shows and new programs, the platform has been able to compete with other streaming services. However, today, it has delisted some of the same programs that made it once a popular favorite. How will I fare now?
On January 3, one Vibes user wrote, “Diverse Content Options: Many people enjoyed Hulu’s variety of shows and movies. Users shared that it is the best streaming platform with the most variety. If you want your ads shown during popular TV series, Hulu could work for you.”
The unbeatable $0.99 per month still makes Hulu one of the most affordable streaming services online. Only time will tell whether this will be enough to keep its clients and attract new ones.
