The voice actor Tom Wyner, known for his work on shows such as Power Rangers, and Digimon, died at the age of 77. Wyner’s agency, Mobile Monicker Productions, announced his passing on Facebook last week.
“It is with a heavy heart that we write that client Tom Weiner (known as Tom Wyner). Has passed away at the age of 77,” the post read.
“Tom was absolutely enthralled by the opportunity to meet his fans, sharing his own passions and inspiring them to chase after their dreams,” the post continued. “He poured his heart and soul into every encounter, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him. His beautiful and kindred spirit will forever hold a special place in our hearts.”
Hollywood Mourns Death of Tom Wyner
In a show of solidarity, fellow voice actor Wendee Lee wrote on X. “Losing voice actor Tom Weiner is a sad one. I’ve worked with Tom since the beginning. He was wildly talented, confidant, intelligent, funny, restless, a handful at times. Loved animals, cooking & food. Sending healing light to all who knew & appreciated him. Farewell friend.”
Many actors and fans seem to remember the Power Ranger actor for his tough and comic-like tone.
According to Mobile Monicker, Wyner played villains in Lupin the 3rd, Robotech, Street Fighter, Wolf’s Rain, and Ghost in the Shell. He was also an ADR Director and Story Editor for Saban Entertainment.
In addition, Tom Wyner portrayed the demon hunter turned ventriloquist’s dummy Sid in the popular television show “The Puppet Show” and in the videogame Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds
