From the moment their first anime adaptation aired on the small screen in 1999, Digimon has been a major part of the anime world. They’ve appeared in a variety of forms including anime, video games, feature films, merchandise, and manga.
Digimon has not revealed any new anime projects since Digimon Ghost Game was aired in 2023 and the movie, Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning, was released in 2018. Things could change when the franchise hits New York Comic-Con next month.
It is no secret that comic cons tend to put more focus on Marvel, DC, and other major studios. In recent years, however, anime and animation have steadily increased their presence at places like the upcoming New York Comic-Con through panels, guest appearances, and celebrity guests.

A lot of big anime properties, including Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, The Lord of The Rings: The War of The Rohirrim, and more, will have panels at NYCC. Digimon isn’t the only anime attendee bringing news. Dragon Ball Daima will host a special panel of its own next month.
It has also been confirmed that Crunchyroll and Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim will both host events to share some anime bombshells in the coming weeks. A Digimon Adventure panel will take place at New York Comic Con on Thursday, October 17th at 3:30 p.m. eastern.
The panel will feature special guest Hiromi Seki, producer of Digimon Adventure 1 and 2, who will hint at the franchise’s future. Here’s what Toei Animation has to say about the event:
