Digimon World: Next Order Sells Over One Million Copies
However, despite the high sales count and demand showcase, players are not happy with the quality of the new Digimon. One commentator on Gakmatsu said “There is demand for Digimon games but the quality is just not there. If only Bandai Namco could find a dev or studio (and with an appropriate budget) that could do Digimon justice the games easily be able to be a 2-3 million seller and with the right care, it can grow more.´
Another player blamed the problems on Bamco. “Kazumasa Habu the producer of Digimon games since the DS left Bamco, but confirmed a new Digimon Story was in development. However, Bamco is forcing employees to leave and also canceled a bunch of games recently, so I’m keeping my hopes very low.”
