As of July 17, Streams Charts has compiled a list of the top video game titles released in 2024 based on peak viewership on Twitch. This list is topped by Palworld, which has an overwhelming lead over all other releases.
PocketPair’s survival game Palworld was released in Early Access in January and quickly topped 25 million players on Steam. It became a popular choice for Twitch streamers and gained 434k peak viewers and 78.74 million hours watched by July 17
According to the results, Enshrouded and Arena Breakout: Infinite tied for second and third place with 218k peak users and 16 million hours watched, respectively. The difference between the total number of hours watched is incredible, even after combining both.
Palworld Set to Change History in Online Gaming
Palworld’s momentum was the strongest at launch, but its recent big Sakurajima update boosted players significantly. A joint venture between PocketPair, Aniplex, and Sony Music Entertainment will expand the franchise.
On June 27 the game rolled out its Sakurajima update which added even more players to the gaming platform. So much so that it attracted Forbes’s attention. The financial news media reported an uptick for over seven consecutive weeks.
As more streamlined media focus on Palworld, critics and skeptics are lowering the accusations loaded against the game. Earlier this year Pokemon Studios filed a lawsuit against the game. However, the Plaworld was declared innocent and the game moved into action.
According to the new Wikipedia description, the game no longer mentions “Pokemon-like characters with guns”.
Palworld is an upcoming action-adventure, survival, and monster-taming game created and published by Japanese developer Pocketpair. The game is set in an open world populated with animal-like creatures called “Pals”, which players can battle and capture to use for base building, traversal, and combat.
Pocketpair has done what larger studios have been unable to do for years. They have found a way to get the new world playing.
