Pocketpair Publishing Off to a Great Start
Pocketpair launched the company at the end of January this year with an initial project from Surgent Studios. The game is believed to be a horror shooter, and players are already chattering about the partnership. Surgent Studios CEO Abubakar Salim stated, “We noticed a pattern in the entertainment industry, and Pocketpair has given us the opportunity to make a horror game about it.”
The studio is popular for its flagship game, Tales of Kenzara: Zau.
Pocketpair is still battling a trademark infringement lawsuit leveled against it by Nintendo and the Pokémon Company. Since the filing, Palworld has received many updates featuring design changes and content expansions. These new features have further distanced the similarities between Palworld and Pokémon.
The studio has called these new updates, including two in January, its 2025 roadmap for Palworld. “We’ve been updating the game since the start of Early Access, and we’ll continue to update Palworld as we prepare for the official release,” Pocketpair said.
Palworld continues to outperform critics expectations.
